Raising mini and standard Australian Shepherds
Are your Australian Shepherds registered?
They are registered with the American Kennel Club, AKC, and some of them
American Stock Dog Registry, ASDR.
Standard (full-size) Aussies full growth?
Standards are 18-23″ tall to top of the shoulder and weigh 40-65 lbs.
Mini (full-size) Aussies full growth?
Mini’s are 14-18″ to the top of the shoulder and can weigh 20-40 lbs.
Is an Aussie right for you?
Australian Shepherds are not for everyone. Both Mini and Standard Aussies require more activity and attention than your typical house dog. They need an active lifestyle and hours of your attention every day. Raising a happy, healthy and well behaved Aussie is a big commitment and should be taken seriously. I strive to be a responsible breeder when placing puppies and will only place puppies with qualified owners. Please only consider an Aussie if you plan to make the dog an active family-member in your daily life. I always welcome questions about the breed if you are new to Aussie ownership.
Are your dogs registered and health guaranteed?
All of my program dogs are registered with AKC as Standard Australian Shepherds or Mini American Shepherds, and/or with ASDR as Standard Australian Shepherds and Mini Australian Shepherds. All dogs are health tested and regularly vet checked to ensure the health, wellbeing, and quality of offspring.
Can I get a non-registered dog discount?
All puppies, papered or not, take the same amount of time, money, and attention. A responsible breeder who cares about the breed has spent a great deal of money, time, research and so much more to be a responsible breeder and raise healthy, happy dogs.
Do I need to make a deposit to reserve an available puppy or get on a reservation list?
Yes. If we talk by phone or via messenger and you express an interest in a puppy, that does not reserve the puppy for you. A deposit must be made in order to claim a reservation.
FUTURE PUPPY- Contact us to reserve a puppy in a future litter. This deposit will be non-refundable and will be applied towards your puppy.
Your deposit is good for ANY puppy, ANY litter, at ANY time.
Once a puppy is born to the litter you reserved, you may make your decision on what puppy you want, according to the order in which the deposits were received.
AVAILABLE PUPPY- Contact us about a non refundable deposit on any puppy marked as available. This deposit will be applied to the price of the puppy. Final payment is paid before delivery. We accept cash on delivery in person.
What forms of payment are accepted for available puppies/deposits?
We prefer Cash, Cashiers Check, Money Order, Venmo, or PayPal.
When can my puppy come home?
Puppies are ready for their new homes starting at 8 weeks depending on development.
At Countryside Kennels and Aussies it is with love and passion that I raise my puppies in my home. I ensure proper neurological and appropriate sensory stimulation, as well as regular socialization to guarantee that my puppies are set up for success in their future homes. All puppies have their first vet visit within the first 72 hours of life for a general health check and tail docking/dewclaw removal. Puppies are weaned from mom around 4 weeks of age and introduced to Purina Pro Plan Puppy gruel. At 6-7 weeks they receive their first set of vaccinations. Puppies are dewormed regularly and have the option for microchipping. Potty training begins at 3 weeks using a litter box and transitions to the outside environment by weeks 7-8.
